Future of internet telephony- VoIP

The Internet Protocol (IP) was formerly devised and used for data networking. The success of IP made itself a world customary for data networking. And this success has become a choice for voice networking. VoIP is also called as broadband telephony, Internet telephony, broadband phone and IP telephony. Various demanding technologies are being used just to develop a single technology Voice over IP .These implementations are both proprietary and open protocols and standards. Some other Voice on Internet Protocol applications are virtual FXOs, intercom systems, conferencing servers and adapted telephony software which also supports dial in dictation, on hold and call recording servers and support VoIP and PSTN like IVR systems.
